RESET

As inclined as I am to write something about my current feelings, I have to remind myself that things are not always about me. I’d like to remind you of that same truth – IT’S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT YOU!!!!!!

Although you are important to God and you matter tremendously to Him, everything is not about YOU! There are some situations that God allows us to experience solely for the purpose of being a witness to someone else. You’re right, it doesn’t make any sense to me either, but God’s ways are not like our ways nor are His thoughts like our thoughts.

One thing that we can make sense out of is that the Bible says in Lamentations chapter 3, verses 22 & 23:

22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

We can be confident that God’s compassions never fail! Every morning that we wake up, God (in His faithfulness) gives us new mercies. It’s almost as though everyday is a reset or a new beginning.

What would it be like to approach each day as though you have received a reset or a do-over?

Would your mindset change?

Would your attitude and focus shift?

A reset is a chance to do something differently than what you did before. A chance to be kinder today; when yesterday you were mean. Or a chance to love harder; when yesterday you didn’t put forth effort to love like God loves.

Not only can our actions be reset but also our perspective and expectations of God can be reset too. Everyday as we draw closer to God, He will draw closer to us showing us the areas in which we need a reset.

As your reset begins, don’t forget to thank God for His new mercies and for your RESET!
